A remarkable documentary from the always-revealing Callejeros, from the streets of Barcelona, which was broadcast on Cuatro on Friday, December 9th 2011.
The 35-minute video – 95% in the Castellano language – covers a wide cross-section of life on the streets of Barcelona overnight.
Shot on the weekend of October 7, 2011 it features prostitution, pickpocketing, drunken fights, sale of fake good, drink driving and more.
Our particular interest here of course is robbery on the streets of Barcelona, and we’re treated to a demonstration of the “Ronaldinho” from a street thief taking a break on La Ramblas. He’s well known to the police. We also see prostitutes stealing wallets; trileros in action, and two guys who were picked-up by the police for pickpocketing and then released, returning to the metro system where they are caught on camera attempting to rob again. Great footage, providing an insight into the workings of the city.
Thanks to Victor and Joan on our Facebook group for telling us about it.
The link to watch the video – entitled “Guardia de Noche” is here. (It really is a thankless job for the police.)
