A group of foreign students have produced a video in Spanish, warning locals and tourists about the dangers of pickpocketing and bagsnatching in the city of Barcelona.
It’s evident that the girls who appear in the video are students of the Spanish language, which gives the video an endearing quality.
Even if you don’t speak the language, it’s worth watching for the illustrations they record to show how street criminals typically operate.
Only in Barcelona would language students have a student project about pickpocketing. We recommend you watch from 1 minute, 17 seconds as that’s where the language students first appear.
Thanks to José from our Facebook group for pointing us in the direction of this.

1mn18 “.. y hemos visto muchos de eso “turcos” desde que vivimos en Barcelona”. Dios mio, tanta ignorancia !
Would this not better have been recorded in English? I guess this is info for tourists visiting BCN…
In any case, plenty of fear-mongering and some absurd advice like “do not talk to people” … now that’s pathetic … how are you going to get to know somewhere (culture, etc) if you do not talk to the people? is that really tourism? Should we all get ourselves a youtube guide and watch it from the sofa?
Ah, we will end up having to build armoured special cars for tourists…
Maybe it would be a good idea to inform the public of those places one should not visit (due to higher risk of pickpockets) but please do not over-simplify the issue
In Barcelona, and Spain in general, we have a big problem with theft: from Germany, Angela Merkel and their bankers are stealing wallets and ruin the country
